Vision is still intact!!!!

 

I am still knitting and crocheting pillow squares. The count is high , way over 200 squares. And every time I go to put some together I find another yarn , or a pattern that I need to try first, been doing that for a month!. Keep getting side tracked by other things. I have the sewing machine, so I really only need thread, because I have a box of material I can use for backing and casing. I have a few pillow forms and stuffing. Oh! yea!!! My cousin gave me some great tie-dye cotton, that is being used for Aprons. And I found a great web site Spice Berry Cottage on ETSY. Beautiful cotton material, the most whimsical designs, now I need to find some funky male orientated material. This is why I can't get one thing done!!!! I keep adding to the list.
And now I have all these idea's for embellishments. I bought 100 Flowers to Knit & Crotchet by Lesley Stanfield. The embellishments in this book are beautiful. I can't wait to loose my temper working on them. That book was bought twice, I had to give one to my cousin Dori, she does such beautiful kid stuff, I knew she would love to add that book to her stash. And then I found BEYOND THE SQUARE Crotchet Motifs. Circles, hexagons, triangles ,squares and allot more other interesting shapes. Another resource for embellishments too.
I have been on a knitting binge lately, I have chosen all of the novelty yarn to work with, I can't crotchet with that, and knitting takes me a bit longer. Hands are really acting up. Gardening is not helping either. But that is not something one gives up. And I have been doing allot of Blog reading, and checking on store set-ups, maybe in two months get my own website, I can just work on it, doesn't need to do anything . Patience, things do not happen over nite so I can not lose sight of what I want to get done. I do have a timeline, gotta find it!!!!

Cranberry Wild Rice Bread....MMMMMMMM

INGREDIANTS 1 package active dry yeast 2 1/4 cups warm water (110-115 degrees F). Divided 1/4 cup sugar, divided  1/4 cup molasses 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 tablespoon salt 2 cups cooked wild rice 1 package Sun-Maid Cape Cod Cranberries, chopped 4 cups Bread flour 2 cups whole wheat flour DIRECTIONS In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in 1/2 the warm water, with i/2 the sugar: Let stand for 10 minutes. Add the molasses, oil, and remaining water and sugar: Mix well. Add wild rice and chopped cranberries. In another bowl mix together both flours with 1 tablespoon salt. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface: Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes, add more flour if needed. Place in a greased bowl and let rise in a warm lace until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch dough down, divide into two loaves, place into greased bread pans. Let rise again until doubled. Potato Zucchini pancakes

Zucchini, Potato,Rosemary Pancakes with a Raspberry Chipotle Cream Sauce These are my favorite things in the world to make. When I had a garden, and used just picked herbs and Zucchini...Life in the kitchen was so much fun! I will admit I'm not that great with measuring things when I cook with seasonings, everything is pretty much eye-balled. But I did try to figure them out when I did them to write up. These are so very good you will want to make them all summer long!!!! Ingriedients 2 Cups Zucchini, grated thinly 2 Cups Russet Potato, grated thinly Zest of one lemon Juice of one lemon 1/4 cup Panko bread crumbs  3 cloves minced garlic 2 teaspoons minced Rosemary 2 teaspoons finely chopped Flat leaf Parsley 2 teaspoons finely chopped chives 3 chopped Scallions 2 teaspoons Sea Salt 2 teaspoons Lemon Pepper Mix all together Whisk 2 Eggs with 3 tablespoons heavy cream, Add to above ingredients. A Perfect Day

It is foggy and dark outside. A perfect day to let the mind wander. It is a full day of Julia Child today, that's been fun this morning. I will get to the movie, maybe this week. Julie & Julia I think it's called. But I learned the secret of popovers! You learn something new everyday. Don't use a pan, use separate custard cups, leaving room between them for the heat to circle, and that is what will make them really pop up. I think I will make some on Monday, I will be home for dinner, so I will make popovers and a shrimp salad. I will be able to use fresh peas. And I am making pesto, Have everything I need, think I will freeze in ice cube trays, then use when needed. And If I want fresh pesto, I only need to buy a container of basil, add a few ice cubes, made it stretch. Pick Sage to dry also, and I have a sage that is getting crowded out, gonna have to move that baby to it's own pot. And with this rain, weeds are growing again. I am hoping Monday is a sunny hot day
