It is Growing!

The summer has been a geat one so far. Everything is growing beautifully. A few mistakes, but that is bound to happen. So, what is growing now is the 2010 garden. Worked in the garden book this week-end, now it is time to repeat myself on the machine. So, here is Tamara Jo's list of what all is in "Paradise".
Daylily and Sunflower Garden
Down the length of the shed a lush row of daylilies that are about to bloom in a mysterious color. And in front of those I just seeded with a Wildflower Shade mix. And I have no idea what everything is just yet, but alot of flowers will be showing up this week. The mix included: Bachelor Buttons, Chinese For-Get-Me Nots, Baby Blue-Eyes, Sweet Rocket, Tick-Seed, Sweet William, Rocket Larkspur, Daisy Chrysanthemum, Godetia, Sweet Alyssum, Spured Snapdragon. Shirley Poppy, Common Foxglove, Garden Columbine. Now to let it all bloom! The corner is my favorite, that has Yellow Iris's, Yellow Evening Primrose, Nasturtiums, Orange and Red Cosmo's, Red Zinnia's, African Daisy's, and a few Ganzezia's. The back of the shed has the Sunflowers, and a few odds and ends. Eight Mammoth Sunflowers, Three Sundrops and Five Solar Babies. Garlic Chives, Purpled Ruffled Basil, Common Sage, and a Giant Pumpkin that is going to crowd out the basil and sage.Oh well, they didn't grow fast enough to get taller than the pumpkin leaves. Down the edge is a row of Nasturtiums and Cosmo's.That is just thick and really beautiful.
The Big Whiskey Barrels did not get utilized properly this year, but they are full. One has nasturtiums, they crowded out all the herbs. The other barrel has nasturtiums and a tomato plant, I think it is a Roma. I can't remember . Both barrels are full and green. Starting to flower really nice this morning.
The Cosmo's that are growing are all: Bright light mix, Cosmic orange and red, Pollidor, and I think a few All- sorts got planted, those will be in pinks or white. Nasturtiums are all from seed and they are: Jewel mix, Whirlybird mix, and Empress of India.
Now we come to the Vegtable Garden. Along the width of the garden a lush border of Scarlet Starlet, Safari Yellow, and the big yellow and orange Inca mix Marigolds, along with African Daisy's.
Each corner of the garden is anchored with a few sunflowers, Teddy Bear was first planted, they are slow, so I added others, when they bloom I will know.Down the length of the garden is a border of Cosmos. The other side has a patch of Cilantro then the Pea Fence goes half way down the garden. One side is planted with Maestro peas, and Dwarf snap peas. The other side has Flowering Sweet Peas, Bi-Color, Fragrant Heirlooms and Brights. Second year I have failed with them.
Top of the garden has Three Roma tomatoes and a Big Boy growing nicely in red cages. In between the tomatoes, Genovese Basil, Sweet Basil, Lemon Basil, And Red Rueben.
Next row are the peppers. Four Serrano, four Sweet Banana, four Cayenne, and four Super Hot Chili plants.
Bush Beans, Slenderette and Soleil. Four Dusty Eggplants, Klaidescope Carrots, Chisago Beets, Dill, Scallions. And everything is growing great!
Two big hills of Lemon Cucumbers and two big hills of Tendergreen. 14 plants all together.
Four large hills of Bush Zucchini. 18 plants. Oh! Dear God!!!!
Four more large hills, this area is a bit of a mess. Had a watermelon plant , it died. So I planted a nice Red Salvia in it's place. Next is a Melon plant getting shaded out by massive pumpkin leaves, I keep re-arranging. Three Atlantic Giants, growing everywhere. They better produce some big Pumpkins, right now they are causing my blood pressure to rise. The last hill holds a Banana Gourd, Oh! MY God!!! Gourds everywhere, arms everywhere, big ones, it is growing over my Broad Leaf Cress. It scares me.
The Gourd Wall has five Ornamental gourds starting to grow rapidly up. And stupid me planted Red Cypress vine behind the wall on a old wire cage, not going see it, and it is really growing. Just like my poor Black- Eyed Susan Vine, Growing beautifully ,but out of view with all these leaves.
The End is a Garage wall. Lined with Sunflowers , the Mammoth ones. A pedestal is in the center with a big Orange container of Apple Mint and a ring of Cosmo's.  One more Big Boy Tomato in a Orange cage, and a rogue Pear Tomato plant from last year is growing nicely. And then the Miracle Plant, a Roma Tomato plant that is about a foot high, dead looking, now has three growing tomatoes and another flower. Proves again... There is life after death.
The herbs that are in containers are all nice and green, my two pots of German Chamomile are flowering, Rosemary, Prostrate Rosemary, Lemon Balm, Chervil, Flat leaf Parsley, Curly Parsley, Sweet Marjoram, Thyme, Orange and Spearmint. And a long container of Chef Blend Lettuce.
Finally, almost done! Flower containers that line the garden. Ganzia's, Jewel Box Celosia, Red Impatients, Spikes, Mimmulus, Margarita Orange Portacula, Nemesia, Profusion Fire Zinnia's, Million Gold Melompodium, Marguerite Daisy's, Calibrachoa, Golden Sedge, Yellow Viol'a, Nasturtiums, Calibrachoa Rose, Blue Lobelia, Pink Nemesia, Gerbera Daisy's, Candy Corn Vine.
The Lost Garden, Poor thing gets battered by rain.Five Moon Flowers growing up a Blue cage, Cosmos, Yellow Viola, Yellow Evening Primrose, Zinnia's, Baby's Breath, African Daisy's, Chinese forget me-nots, and Columbine.
That is the 2010 complete garden inventory!
